Reports to: Senior Director, Co-Curricular Programs

Purpose: The job holder supports in assessing, designing, and developing co-curricular learning experiences that nurture well-rounded The American University in Cairo (AUC) graduates, who are professionally successful, empowered, collaborative, creative, civic-minded, ethical, and effective citizens in their communities and change-makers in the world. He/she is responsible to design and manage the operations of a comprehensive holistic competency learning and development strategy and a campus wide experiential learning opportunities; oversee the planning and delivery of high quality trainings, high-impact initiatives and multidisciplinary learning practices; mange research analysis and reporting, and learning and development, execute the strategic marketing and communication plan, and promote and expand the mentoring impact for AUC students by outreaching selected mentors to bring new learning opportunities for student development and growth.

Responsibilities:

Development and Execution of the Co-Curricular Programs’ Strategic Plan

  • Support in the development and execution of the co-curricular programs’ strategic objectives
  • In charge of managing the implementation of the different mentoring modalities
  • Assist in the operation of facilitating holistic competency learning, and development experiences.
  • Support in the outreach plan to retain, recruit and expand the pool of AUC high quality mentors, educators and facilitators in the Co-Curricular Programs (CCP)
  • Support in the recruitment campaign of faculty and alumni mentors to support and oversee learning and development programs and mentoring initiatives
  • Attract high profile alumni and professional experts to share their experience and enrich the student life co-curricular experience
  • Support in the design and development plan for implementing holistic competency-based workshops, mentoring sessions and clinics
  • Work collaboratively with student leaders, faculty, alumni and professional staff to offer workshops and mentoring modalities designed to foster development and experiential co-curricular learning experience
  • Manage the effective operations of the recruitment, screening and selection process
  • Review the workflow on AUC connect for the effective optimization of matching mentors and mentee engagement levels
  • Conduct training needs assessment for mentors on regular basis and design an ongoing professional development training framework for all mentors
  • Assist in the delivery of professional development workshops and events for faculty and alumni mentors
  • Develop, conduct and monitor an integrated comprehensive assessment mechanism to measure the impact of the CC development programs and students’ success indicators

Promoting and Managing Co-Curricular Programs Marketing and Communications Action Plan

  • Support in the implementation of the marketing and communication plan to enrich students’ co-curricular learning and development experiences
  • Assist in brand proposition for the CCP to highlight all office events, campaigns, and success stories of events or students in pursuit of attracting more students
  • Assist in managing the content strategy of the CCP and the life mentorship program's marketing campaign
  • Set up and optimize the LMP and CCP webpages and develop ongoing updated digital content within to increase the visibility of the program’s social media content
  • Support in managing various social media accounts, plan and monitor the ongoing marketing campaigns on social media platforms
  • Generate, edit, publish and share content (original text, images, video) that builds meaningful connections and encourages AUC community members to act
  • Mange and overview day-to-day development of editorial content on social media platforms, including posts and discussion
  • Support in the moderators to manage social channels (outside normal business hours for crisis management, customer care, and potential escalations)
  • Promote and showcase CCP success stories and co-curricular mentoring events at different digital social media platforms
  • Support in media and online coverage activities, arrange media interviews during and post events, and update the media drive with contacts and photos of events that will be reflected in the master calendar
  • Collaborate and liaise with the marketing communications team to ensure that all the CCP-led events are marketed and promoted effectively and effective promotional materials are produced

CCP Events Planning and Management

  • Support in the design and execution of the yearlong CCP’s events for the holistic learning and development experiences
  • Support the senior director in the creation and maintenance of the master digital calendar of CCP’s activities and events
  • In charge of overseeing and updating the digital master event calendar created quarterly and compiling all event information and logistics, as well as drafting event briefing documents for publications and promotional purposes
  • In charge of designing and developing the yearly professional development trainings for mentors
  • Responsible for the annual ceremony of recognizing AUC mentors for the impact on AUC students’ co-curricular experience and lifelong success
  • Develop assessment tools for CCP’s event to evaluate the effectiveness of event objectives and outcomes
  • Develop progress report and presentations on all CCP’s learning and mentoring deliverables achievements

Assessment and Evaluation for Co-Curricular Learning & Development

  • Explore global educational trends and analyze best practices in multiple experiential co-curricular learning programs to support the adoption of new holistic learning initiatives
  • Assist in applying and contextualizing best mentoring practices and trends in higher education into co-curricular learning and programs
  • Assist in conducting regular quantitative and qualitative research on campus to identify students’ development needs and gaps
  • Support in generating insights for enriching the students’ holistic development into the co-curricular experience through immersive and exploratory research
  • Assist in the qualitative analysis including coding and theming for needs for integrated mentoring programs into the students’ co-curricular learning experience
  • Support in developing analysis reports in relation to the progress of the research held under the CCP office to assess students’ success indicators
  • Assist in synthesizing and analyzing research data for presentations and written reports to AUC
  • Perform any other related tasks as assigned

Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in mass communication, Integrated Marketing Communications, marketing and/or in psychology/educational leadership/human development related fields
  • A master’s degree is an asset

Experience:

  • A minimum of 7-9 years’ experience in marketing and research, with background in corporate, educational and human development settings.

  • Experience with high-impact practices and 21st-century skills for experiential learning approaches
  • Knowledge in applying research software: ANOVA and SPSS is an asset
