Reports to: Director, Database Management and Financial reporting

Purpose: The job holder is responsible for ensuring that the data and records of donors, prospective donors, alumni, and other friends and supporters of The American University in Cairo (AUC), are accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date. He/she will implement a strategy that establishes clear priorities for data maintenance that are aligned with the fundraising strategy and priorities of the Office of Institutional Advancement and Alumni Relations. He/she will undertake research using diverse resources and information, and will be highly skilled in the use of salesforce. A key member of the institutional advancement team, the job holder will follow is that he/she will implement and advance best practices in higher education advancement.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the director, database management and financial reporting, and in coordination with the alumni engagement, development and advancement services offices, develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for data and records management in support of the strategic objectives of institutional advancement
  • Maintain and continuously review and deliver on a schedule of priority data projects
  • Identify and secure access to diverse sources of information (Advancement staff, online resources, services, university records and so on) that are required to update records
  • Update records and information ensuring that they meet the highest standards of accuracy and comprehensiveness
  • Ensure office practices follow the highest ethical practices in preserving data confidentiality and security
  • Develop new methods and opportunities to capture updating information
  • Produce high quality reports that are comprehensive and accurate
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues across institutional advancement
  • Oversee and monitor related policies and practices, continuously reviewing and updating as necessary
  • Keep up-to-date with developments related to salesforce, ensuring that AUC is at the forefront of its use
  • Support the training of new staff in the use of salesforce as necessary
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities, as requested by the vice president for institutional advancement and the office

Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree is required

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience
  • Experience with salesforce or similar Content Management System (CMS) database in an international non-profit, academic, research, public policy or other similar institution
  • Experience in fundraising is preferable

Skills:

  • Experience working with diverse individuals to secure and deliver information on strict schedules
  • Highly organized, with an ability to manage multiple projects and demanding schedules
  • Fast and accurate data entry skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Experience with online research tools and resources
  • Results and service-oriented attitude with special attention to responding timely with accuracy and precision
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative team environment
  • A collegial and professional manner
  • Strong ethical manner, and an ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately and with discretion
  • Excellent Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Customer Relationship Management
