Manager, Women on Boards Observatory, Corporate Governance Unit, School of Business Executive Education, Grant Position

Purpose: The holder of this position will manage all activities related to gender diversity on boards, Women on Boards (WOB) Observatory including annual Women on Boards (WOB) annual monitoring reports, Egyptian board ready women database and board placement service. She/he will map an action plan for the corporate governance unit initiatives in research, training and events that would have an impact on corporate governance and women on board and its consistency with the school’s priorities. He/she will assist in carrying out a particular research agenda and in a variety of non-administrative tasks, which may include preparing resources, equipment, materials for the research, documenting results, etc. in support of the research activities.

Principal Accountabilities:

Leadership and Planning:

  • Leads plan for Women on Board (WOB) observatory activities including Egyptian board ready women database
  • Develops initial implementation plan for the production of Women on Board (WOB) monitoring reports as scheduled
  • Plans events and conferences related to the gender diversity on boards and women on board observatory activities
  • Ensures effective and up to date business continuity plans are in place, which meet expected standards and deadlines for all related activities
  • Builds and maintains relationships with key national, regional and international stakeholders
  • Produces reports on corporate governance ecosystem in Egypt and maps an action plan for the school of business’s initiatives
  • Plans and implements activities, initiatives, researching, disseminating research and report results and tracking results
  • Plans, organizes, maintains, and updates website and communication contents

Operations and Management

  • Manages all gender diversity and women on boards observatory activities
  • Responsible for delivering required outcomes, disseminating, and communicating them effectively
  • Develops all corporate governance unit’s reports and observatory documentation
  • Manages, updates and maintains Egyptian Board Ready database
  • Assists in general administration of the corporate governance unit in the activities related to gender diversity on boards and women on boards
  • Participates in all groups, forums, working parties and meetings, as appropriate
  • Takes responsibility for personal and professional development of the team members within its area.
  • Understands the diverse range of political and stakeholder views relevant to corporate Governance unit’s activities and to interact effectively
  • Supports other team members to perform their role and to develop professionally
  • Involves in corporate events and projects, managing corporate governance events

Research:

  • Research, draft and implement initiatives on women on boards best practices
  • Develop research on training programs and events that would have an impact on corporate governance and is consistent with the school’s priorities
  • Analyze the data received from different stakeholders to generate informative reports related to the contribution of women on boards in Egypt
  • Identifying the criteria currently used for board membership
  • Developing a benchmark by mapping the qualifications of current board members in Egypt
  • Identifying the number of women needed in each sector to fill the gap and meet the target of 30 percent by 2030
  • Check’s facts, proofread, and edits research documents to ensure accuracy
  • Uses multiple streams of data to find information
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirement:  

  • Bachelor degree in a related field
  • Master’s degree is an asset

 Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience
  • Experience and understanding of corporate governance in gender diversity on boards’ issues
  • Experience in developing and maintaining systematic and transparent reports and research in the area of corporate governance, gender diversity

Skills :

  • Excellent writing skills in English and Arabic, including but not limited to report and plan writing with the ability to create clear requirements, specifications and documentation
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills, research and report writing
  • Proficient ability to set priorities, manage multiple deadlines, perform under stress, effectively deliver tasks and processes on time, and maintains confidentiality
  • Attention to details and finding the right information
  • Critical thinking: needs to use decisive reasoning to determine the best course of action in research
  • Ability to use statistical and graphical analysis of data
  • Ability to work both autonomously and effectively contribute to a team
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Applications) with the ability to familiarize quickly to new systems/programs
  • Ability to work outside normal office hours to attend meetings where required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to create and sustain strong working relationships and to collaborate with staff at all levels
  • Ability to multi-task, with strong organizational skills
