Lead SAP Developer (ABAP)

Purpose: To be responsible for the development of technical specifications, designing solutions, ABAP development, testing in the SAP modules, developing custom reports, interfaces and user exits as well as working in the areas of table creation, enhancements, screens, menus, and dialog programming. Responsible for successfully developing test plans and test scenarios for unit testing and participation in all aspects of the system development life cycle.

Principal Accountabilities:  

  • Gather business and user requirements
  • Analyze business requirement
  • Perform system design to meet requirements
  • Analyze the estimated time needed for development
  • Coordinate technical implementation
  • Develop ABAP programs per functional requirements, and in accordance with quality guideline
  • Develop requested reports as per the business users’ requirements
  • Debug Finance, Controlling, Fund Management, Material Management, Projects System, Transportation Management, Payroll and Human Resources ABAP programs
  • Prepare and execute test scripts and test cases
  • Releasing developed objects to different environments
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, especially around ABAP based programs
  • Explain technical issues and solutions to non-technical staff
  • Write project documentation
  • capturing defects at early stages by performing unit testing and system testing with appropriate test cases and scenario
  • Understand the functional specification and document technical specification
  • Preparing technical documentations of the development
  • Receiving tickets/issues from business/consultants, and resolving the issue in timely manner
  • Responsible for the performance tuning/improvement of developed objects
  • Perform additional duties as required

Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirement:  

  • A university degree preferably in computer science
  • Certified SAP ABAP is a plus

Experience:

  • Must have minimum eight years of experience with three years in developing ABAP programs for Payroll, Human Resources, Finance and/or Material Management
  • Business Applications Programming Interface, Business Add In, Intermediate Documents, Application Link Enabling, ABAP List Viewer, Remote Function Calls, Batch Data Communication, User Exits and Batch Data Tool-Set
  • SQL and Database Skills
  • Performance tuning of programs using SQL trace, runtime analysis
  • Should have experience with process analysis, design, mapping, and re-engineering
  • Should have experience with process/software gap analysis and resolution, and coding methods to improve the performance of the programs
  • Should have experience creating and executing test cases and test scripts for SAP R/3 implementations
  • Experience with ECC5 or higher 
  • SAP Net Weaver Developer Studio
  • Reporting tools (list, interactive, ABAP Query and ABAP List Viewer)
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP Enterprise Portal, SAP Workflow, Master Data Management and SAP security
  • Use of Online Services Systems
  • SAP programming concepts and interfacing knowledge (i.e. Data Dictionary, Legacy System Migration Workbench, Computer Aided Test Tool, SAP Script, Portals, Electronic Data Interchange, XML, Business Application Programming Interface, Authorizations)
  • Development methodologies Accelerated SAP
  • Experience in all phases of SAP Implementation including post implementation support
  • HANA (high-performance analytic appliance) would be additional add on
