Reports to: Director of Transportation

Purpose: The jobholder is responsible for the overall fleet services operation, management of services, procurement of supplies and maintenance of fleet. The jobholder is responsible for planning and following up on the department’s budget, maintaining efficient standard of Fleet Department as well as keeping the fleet up to The American University in Cairo’s (AUC) image. He/she will be managing and controlling all the AUC fleet services and the related transfer to automated fleet management and cars reservation systems. Also, the all the transportation department training campaign and Sale process.

Principal Accountabilities:

· Manage and control all of the AUC fleet services and related cars reservation systems

· Conduct training for the drivers as needed

· Responsible for the accomplishment of fleet overall operations and maintaining AUC standards and safety of services

· Develop work plan and schedule for AUC drivers and fleet (maintenance procedures, administrators assigned cars, trustees visit, event supporting transportations and airport services)

· Manage and follow up on the execution of the job orders according to AUC fleet policies

· Plan the schedule and follow up on the execution of regular and emergency maintenance needed for fleet

· Plan the logistic procurement of fleet requirements, negotiate prices with car and maintenance agencies regarding AUC fleet renewal and maintenance, and examine alternative solutions to reduce costs while maintaining quality of service

· Determine and report fleet needs and staffing requirements to the director of transportation

· Direct, select, interview, train, evaluate, assign, and supervise all materials and car pool operations personnel

· Maintain the running cost for the fleet to provide high quality service and retain appropriate revenue for AUC

· Manage and evaluate the fleet staff performance and operation and handle the work related to administrative and technical aspects

· Provide regular report with regard to all fleet activities

· Develops new and/or improved methods for optimum efficiency and cost control; and works with appropriate supervisory personnel on plans and programs for improvements within the department and services offered

· Assures that safety, fire safety, and security rules and regulations are followed within Futures and Options (F&O) stock operations and tunnel areas, and maintain cleanliness and order

· Participate in University events to ensure coordination of all services and deliveries as required

· Daily reports trip-monthly report related to business

· Conduct daily contact with faculty, department chairs, administrators, and various other University, and community

· Maintain constant awareness of the type of material transferred

· Deliver material across the AUC community in a timely manner; technical awareness of safety precautions related to loading and unloading materials

· Sets transfer priority with customers

· Fully aware of all safety measures of the tunnel such as fire alarm, fie fighting, zone screening and tunnel utilities

· Perform other duties as requested by direct supervisor

Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirement:

· Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required

Experience:

· Minimum of 10 years of experience, including 4 years of management experience in related field in medium to large warehouse, or shipping and receiving

· Experience in materials distribution, or transportation management and operations is an asset

Skills :

· Managerial and technical skills in management of transportation services, transportation firms or automobile agencies, and public relations

· Strong analytical, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills

· Computer literate

· Good communication and interpersonal skills

· Administrative and planning skills

· Good command of English and Arabic is required
