Reports to: Senior Director, Business Intelligence

Purpose: The job holder will help discover the information hidden in vast amounts of data, and helps make smarter decisions to deliver even better student experience. His/her's main focus will be in applying data mining techniques, machine learning and building high-quality prediction systems integrated with our data warehouse solution.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques
  • Build predictive models using supervised and unsupervised machine-learning techniques
  • Data mining using state-of-the-art methods
  • Extending the company’s data with third party sources of information when needed
  • Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
  • Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
  • Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner
  • Creating automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance
  • Designing, developing, improving and maintaining business intelligence solutions
  • Presenting information through reports and visualization
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate systems
  • Developing and maintaining ETL processes
  • Perform any other related tasks as assigned


Minimum Education Requirement(s): 

  • Bachelor degree in computer science or relevant field


  • Minimum of eight years of experience including two years in related fields


  • Data-oriented personality
  • An analytical mindset with problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, etc.
  • Experience with common data science toolkits, such as R, Weka, MatLab, etc {Excellence in at least one of these is highly desirable}
  • Great communication skills
  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as PowerBi, tableau, etc.
  • Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL
  • Good scripting and programming skills
