Job Description:

The Department of Economics at the School of Business, The American University in Cairo, invites applications for adjunct faculty positions. Experienced candidates will be teaching undergraduate courses at the introductory and intermediate levels as well as teaching at the graduate level. Following are the course offerings to be possibly taught by adjunct faculty: Introduction to Microeconomics, Introduction to Macroeconomics, Mathematical Economics, Econometrics, Monetary Economics, Economic Development, Labor Economics, Public Economics and Policy Analysis, International Trade, Economics of Egypt; International Finance.


Requirements:

PhD degree or equivalent with a minimum of two years' teaching experience with outstanding student and peer evaluations. Experience with innovative teaching methodologies is preferred. In some cases, a minimum of MSc or MA or equivalent coupled with extensive practical experience could be considered.

Experience with liberal arts education, innovative teaching methodologies, conducting classroom discussions, field projects and practice-oriented approaches are expected to prepare students to be successful professionals and leaders.

Successful candidates will need to attend at least the four workshops for the teaching enhancement certificate 1 offered by the Center for Learning and Teaching (CLT), unless familiarity with workshops content can be demonstrated.

Preferred Qualifications: Practical local, regional and/or international experience in said or related discipline.

Perfect command of the English language is a must.
