Accountant, Treasury Operations

Reports to: Assistant Director, Treasury Operations

Purpose: The job holder will execute all treasury activities related to cash collection and disbursement, as well as daily monitoring of all AUC bank accounts both local and foreign with direct reporting to the Assistant director of Treasury operations.

Principal Accountabilities:

Daily

• Executes daily banking operation, including intra-accounts transfers, accounts monitoring
• Assisting the Assistant director in managing the short-term investments
• Extracting daily transactions reports of cash balances and Point of Sale (POS) activities
• Responding to bank inquiries regarding The American University in Cairo (AUC) operations and monitors the communications with the AUC departments to facilitate inflows and outflows of funds

Monthly

• Monitoring the bank privileges, as the interest, Letter of credit (LC), letter of Guarantee (LG) fees and the immediate collections, in addition to controlling the bank charges
• Ensure the outstanding items are identified, communicated, and recognized
• Perform other related duties as requested by direct supervisor

Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirement

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

Experience

• Minimum of four years of experience in accounting or finance areas

Skills

• Very good English language both spoken and written
• Attention to details and punctuality.
• Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of banking operations is a plus
• Familiar with SAP system is a plus
