The Department of Wind Energy at DTU is seeking a candidate to make a significant contribution to the development of our next generation of wind resource assessment software.

The position is in the Resource Assessment Modelling Section (RAM). The section conducts research and applies knowledge and models in the field of assessment of wind resources for power generation and of loads on turbines and various other structures.

The job
The position’s main focus is to help DTU Wind Energy deliver new innovative user interfaces for various scientific models, and help develop and expand their APIs to create a more user friendly experience. The front-end of the application is developed using Angular, and the back-end is using FastAPI and Python. Additionally, you will be in charge of helping to design a secure system that can includes encrypted data on the backend, and a robust authorization system to protect both DTU Wind Energy as well as user assets.

The successful candidate will also be expected to collaborate with other groups within the Wind Energy Department, in cross-disciplinary projects.

Our expectations of you
The applicant should have

  • Front-end development experience using Angular
  • Design and development experience for new user interfaces
  • Experience with Python and FastAPI


  • Experience with Web-GIS packages (Eg. OpenLayers or Leaflet) 
  • Experience developing XML schemas


  • Experience with Gitlab
  • Previous work on Wind Energy or scientific based projects

In addition

  • Ability to work independently and to efficiently deliver results on time
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize and work under set deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the LC/CO10-collective agreement and the organizational agreement for IT Professionals (PROSA) or the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations.

The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
