Student Assistants for Pension Research Centre (PeRCent) at CBS

The Pension Research Centre (PeRCent) is looking to hire 1 – 2 student assistants, who are interested in supporting our research on pension related issues.

What is PeRCent?
PeRCent is established to make high-quality contributions in the area of pension research, mainly through publications in leading scientific journals and books within economics and finance. Specifications about the positions
To support our research, we are looking for 1 – 2 student assistants. The workload is, on average, 15 hours per week, but there is a large degree of flexibility, not least during exam periods. The workplace is the Department of Finance, CBS.

In this position, the main tasks are:
•    Working on households’ pension decisions, using data from Statistics Denmark. You will be analyzing data, using summary statistics, probit and OLS regressions. It is an advantage if you have have knowledge about Stata, MatLab, R, SAS or similar programming languages.
•    You will present your results for other researchers. This will be in English. It is a requirement that you speak and write English.
•    Your work will be used in research projects. Consequently, your work might be an inspiration for your master thesis, and might even trigger your interest in pursuing a PhD

Ideal profile
We are looking for a student of finance, economics, or a related field. A solid understanding of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is required. Some knowledge of software such as Stata and R is also expected. Fine grades in your current studies, ability to work independently as well as a positive attitude to learn will also be important.

Salary and employment conditions
Employment will be according to the HK-organisationsaftale and the collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Offentligt Ansattes Organisationer (OAO-S Fællesoverenskomsten).
Salary and pension are determined in regard to HK-overenskomsten and is dependent on previous clerical occupation and level of education.
It is a prerequisite for employment that you are a student enrolled at a Danish institution in higher education or in a professional bachelor programme; and that, at the start date at the latest, you have a physical address in Denmark, a Danish social security number and a Danish bank account.
