Can you help DTU create more startups?

DTU Skylab is looking for a person to develop and run an effort to engage more of the researchers and students at DTU in entrepreneurship. There is a huge potential for creating more startup companies from DTU by making the available support more visible and more easily accessible. We are looking for the right person to be both an organizer and a role model for this effort.

You will be working closely with all the stakeholders in the startup eco-system to develop and run a program which will give new potential entrepreneurs access to the first insights and networking opportunities that will enable them to succeed.

You will also be a part of a startup coaching team that helps the startups in our programs build their business.

DTU Skylab is the innovation hub of DTU. We are a vibrant community supporting diverse activities such as; curricular courses, company collaborations, and startup support programs. In the 8 years that DTU Skylab has existed, it has become a dynamic innovation hub with 5000 m2 of offices, teaching facilities, workshops, and laboratories.

DTU Skylab is both an innovation environment with startups and company collaborations, and an ambitious learning environment where we train skilled engineers with a desire to make a difference in the world.

The job

  • Develop and run a program to stimulate interest in entrepreneurship across DTU. This will be done in close collaboration with colleagues and ecosystem partners.
  • Coach DTU startup teams
  • Inspire students and young researchers to engage in entrepreneurship activities

Our expectations of you

  • Firsthand startup experience, preferably from a technology based startup
  • A relevant educational background. Knowledge of DTU is an advantage, but not a requirement.
  • Prior coaching/mentoring/teaching experience
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Good organization skills

What we offer in return
You will be a part of the Startup & Partnerships section consisting of 12 project managers and project coordinators.

We are approx. 50 full time employees in 4 sections. We have an informal culture and we can laugh, party and be very serious about what we do. We love our users and love to tell all the great stories about the projects running in DTU Skylab, such as; building rockets, farming snails, developing laboratory robots, digital services, student associations, international summits and airborne wind turbines.

It is a challenging job in a very dynamic environment with both business suits and welding masks. You will become a part of a culture and organization in constant rapid development, and you will have a lot of influence on this development.

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC). As part of the employment process you will be asked to take a personality test.

The position is a 3 year project employment and to be filled as soon as possible.

You will be employed at DTU Skylab and the workplace is DTU Lyngby Campus, Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark.

You will refer to the Head of the Startups & Partnerships Section.
