Your profile

We are looking for a dynamic employee who is able to work independently and maintain an overview. We expect you to be efficient at planning your time and organizing major tasks. You have an eye for communication and enjoy interactions with both scientific staff, students, and technical-administrative staff. In addition, you have a flair for and interest in establishing collaborative networks and relationships.

You must have an MSc or PhD degree in materials science, nanoscience, chemistry, physics, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or similar. Previous experience with grant writing, organization of research networks or insight into Danish and EU research schemes will be seen as a plus.


Who we are

The Center for Integrated Materials Research (iMAT) is a strategic initiative at the Faculty of Natural Sicences at Aarhus University. iMAT networks across a diverse range of basic and applied materials research often with significant contributions to solving some of the Grand Challenges of modern society. iMAT is administratively placed under iNANO (

) at the Faculty of Natural Sciences.

iNANO is a major research and education center based at Aarhus University and in possession of state-of-the-art infrastructure across disciplines.

The iMAT center undertakes interdisciplinary research in materials science and technology involving more than 100 scientists, postdocs and PhD students from the fields of nanoscience, chemistry, physics, chemical engineering and mechanical engineering. iMAT offers a dynamic research environment with many industrial, national and international collaborators.

Place of work and area of employment

The place of work is at Langelandsgade 140, 8000 Aarhus C, and the area of employment is Aarhus University with affiliated institutions. The position is contingent on the existence of the above-described duties and tasks. In your daily work you will refer to the iMAT Center Director.
