Research Assistant in Analytical Chemistry - DTU Biosustain

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join our international team at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability (DTU Biosustain), Technical University of Denmark.

The job responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in developing and maintaining analytical LC methods for quantification of small molecules
  • Assisting and maintaining (automated) methods for sample extraction in conjunction with an automation team using small scale liquid handlers.
  • Assisting in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other protocols related to the analytical platform.
  • Preparation of standards solutions and reagents 
  • Coordinating the ordering of reagents and labware as well maintaining the inventory of reagents and labware

Research Assistant with focus on small molecules
We are looking for a colleague who likes to create results via good and positive teamwork. As part of this, you must thrive in a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural and highly interactive environment where knowledge-sharing and collaboration are keys to success. You must be good at managing your own tasks but also tasks in projects involving other stakeholders. Additionally, your CV comprises:

  • Master degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or related scientific field.
  • Hands-on experience with running HPLC-UV(FLD/RI).
  • Hands-on experience with running LC-MS would be an advantage.
  • Proven experience in chromatography method development and instrument maintenance.
  • Capable of working on your own initiative when appropriate.
  • Strong oral and written skills in English.
  • Flexibility, enthusiasm, responsibility, team spirit and excellent collaboration skills

Salary and terms of employment 
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union. 

The period of employment is 2 years. Starting date is as soon as possible, according to mutual agreement.
