Deadline: 21 Aug 2022

Are you a strong researcher and project manager within interventions to promote children’s nutrition and health?

We are looking for a structured, ambitious and talented postdoc to be part of the section Lifecourse Nutrition and Health. The position is a 3-year position and open from 1st October 2022, or as soon as possible thereafter.

The candidate will play an important role as project manager and team coordinator of research activities in two large work packages (WPs): “WP2 Diet & Nutrition” and “WP6 Biomedical Measurements” within the new, large partnership project Generation Healthy Kids. In this project, we will develop, test and measure the effects of a 2-year multi-setting, multi-component community-based intervention in a cluster-randomized design among 2500 children aged 6-11 years (2023-2025), as well as conduct a pilot study in early 2023. The overall aim is to promote healthy weight, health behaviours and wellbeing among children. Apart from food and nutrition in WP2, which includes a school food programme etc., the intervention is focused on physical activity, sleep, digital habits, and social inclusion. Measurements include children’s dietary intake and nutrient status, body composition, cardiometabolic health, physical activity and fitness, cognitive function and wellbeing.

Generation Healthy Kids runs from 2022-2026 and is funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation. It includes co-creation with multiple stakeholders and cross-disciplinary collaboration with schools, parents and many others. The position also involves collaboration across WPs with teams of both experienced and younger researchers from Department of Sports Science & Clinical Biomechanics and National Institute of Public Health at University of Southern Denmark as well as Center for Clinical Research and Prevention, Frederiksberg Hospital.
