Copenhagen Business School invites applications for a vacant Postdoc in Behavioral Science/ Sustainable Consumption at the Department of Management, Society and Communication (MSC). We seek an applicant who is enthusiastic about conducting research, either in consumer behaviour or in psychology (consumer, economic, social). 

MSC brings together scholars from a range of research areas within management, communication and the broader social sciences and humanities, studying organisations in global environments and the interaction and interdependencies of business, society and government. They share a common interest in studying organisations in global environments and the relations of organisations to the wider society. 

MSC is a significant supplier of research based teaching to a broad portfolio of programs, which includes undergraduate, graduate and doctoral teaching and supervision as well as executive education in the fields of 

  • (Responsible) Management/Leadership/Governance 
  • Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability 
  • Business and Development (with an emphasis on the emerging/growth economies context dimension as well as (social) entrepreneurship & innovation) 
  • Organisational Communication (Corporate Communication, Strategic Communication, Leadership Communication, Marketing Communication, International Business Communication) 

The broader topic of the postdoc position is to develop and run behavioral experiments to try to increase the renewable energy use. The main research is to be implemented is part of the Horizon Europe project Wendy.

You will work collaboratively on research projects within one of the areas of the team.

You will be employed at a two-year contract with the possibility for a one-year extension.

To fulfill the research requirements of the position, the applicant chosen is expected to be physically present on a regular basis and actively participate in the teaching and research activities of the Department.

Qualifications

The applicant must hold a PhD or the equivalent.

In assessing applications, particular emphasis will be placed on potential in research relevant to the job description. Applicants with a PhD in behavioral science (e.g., marketing, psychology, neuroscience, cognitive science or experimental economics with a clear psychological focus) will have an advantage.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Would like to work on joint research projects and actively seek collaboration, yet take initiative in developing conceptual ideas, in mastering a literature, and in implementing projects. 
  • Wants to put in the extra effort it takes to publish in premier journals.
  • Have excellent training in statistics and are skilled in conducting complex data analyses (e.g., in R), or are able to acquire these skills quickly.
  • Ideally can implement computer-based experiments (including simple programming extensions).
  • Has professional proficiency in English (written and spoken).

  • Recruitment procedure

    The Recruitment Committee will shortlist minimum two applicants; when possible five or more applicants will be shortlisted.
