Postdoctoral Researcher: Coordination Chemistry

The Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy at the University of Southern Denmark invites applications for a position as postdoc in inorganic/coordination chemistry. The position is available from the 1 March 2023 for one year with the possibility of extension for up to three years. Application deadline: 1 February 2023. 

The position is funded by the Danish council of independent research and concerns coupling C-H and O2 activation using biomimetic transition metal-based catalysts for the purpose of the invention of greener technologies for performing oxidation chemistry. 

The preferred candidate will have relevant experience in organic and inorganic synthesis as well as structural, spectroscopic and electrochemical characterization methods. He/she will be capable of supervising undergraduate project and graduate students.

The Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy is one of four departments at the Faculty of Science, SDU and is located in Odense. The Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy is a department focused on basic research. The department has a strong chemistry programme with leading international researchers within Nucleic Acid Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Biological Chemistry, Materials Chemistry, Nanotechnology, Green Chemistry and Computational Chemistry. In addition to the chemical research programme the department has a strong research profile within Pharmaceutical Technology.

The postdoc in inorganic chemistry/coordination chemistry will be placed in the Section for Chemistry and Pharmacy and will work in a highly collaborative atmosphere with theorists and experimental scientists.
