Postdoctoral fellowship in Single Cell Dissection of Healthy and…

Updated: over 1 year ago
Deadline: 08 Jan 2023

The Mandrup group at Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, SDU hereby announces an open postdoc position in the field of single cell analyses of human adipose tissue. In collaboration with Assistant Professor Søren Fisker Schmidt we will investigate the mechanisms underlying the so-called healthy obesity associated with lower body fat deposition. Using advanced single cell sequencing and spatial transcriptomics, we will determine the cellular and molecular differences between fat biopsies from the abdominal and hip regions of people with apple- and pear-shaped obesity. Insight from this project will help the identification of key transcriptional and signalling mediators causally associated with healthy (and unhealthy) adipose tissue.

The work will primarily be carried out in the Functional Genomics & Metabolism Research Unit but, depending on the interest of the postdoc, it may also involve research exchange to collaborating laboratories, including the Karpe laboratory at University of Oxford.

Deadline
8 January 2023.
