Postdoctoral fellowship in experimental superconducting quantum computing at the Niels Bohr Institute, Faculty of Science, University of Copenhagen

Updated: 25 days ago
Deadline: 09 Jul 2021

We seek an outstanding candidate for a Postdoctoral Fellowship in the field of experimental superconducting quantum computing, with a focus on demonstrating prototype quantum algorithms.

The project is sponsored by a Villum Foundation grant and will take place at the Center for Quantum Devices , located at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen.

Applicants should hold a PhD degree in Physics or Applied Physics with relevant experimental experience and a track record within their fields.

The project involves low-temperature physics experiments in cryofree dilution refrigerators, low-noise and high-frequency electrical measurement techniques, nanofabrication of superconducting qubits, data analysis, advanced programming, interaction with theoretical physicists and quantum algorithm developers. Scientific writing and communication will be in english. The focus of the work will mainly be fabricating superconducting transmon qubits, calibrating high-fidelity quantum gates and implementing prototype-scale quantum algorithms.

The position is open from September 1st 2021 or by arrangement. The duration is two years with possible extension upon mutual agreement.

Inquiries about the positions can be made to Assistant Professor Morten Kjaergaard (mkjaergaard@nbi.ku.dk).

Description of the scientific environment
