Postdoctoral fellow in Geochemistry/Geology at the Department of Geoscience and Natural Resource Management

The Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management, Faculty of Science at University of Copenhagen is offering a two year Postdoctoral position focusing on the combination of chromium and cadmium stable isotopes in ancient sedimentary archives to reconstruct redox conditions and bioproductivity in ambient seawater, with the ultimate aim to link respective signals to climate fluctuations in the past. The projects build on both, experimental and applied research strategies.    '

The ideal candidate will have previous experience with isotope geochemical systems and respective analytical techniques, such as TIMS and/or MC-ICPMS. Willingness and interest to perform own laboratory experiments and to process samples through our laboratory facilities is a prerequisite. The postdoc’s duties will include research, manuscript preparation, and supervision of PhD and MSc students. The post may also include performance of other duties.

Your work place will be the Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management (IGN), which conducts research and education on the past, present and future physical, chemical and biological environments of the Earth and their interactions with societal and human systems to provide candidates and research in support of sustainable future solutions for society. Terms of employment
The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.
Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.
The starting salary is currently up to DKK 437.435 including annual supplement (+ pension up to DKK 74.801). Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
