We are looking for a highly motivated and independent postdocsto provide experimental, scientific and operational support to the Cvejic Labwhich is to commence on 15 December 2022 or soon thereafter.

Our research
The aim of our group is to decipher how differentiation pathways of haematopoietic cells are influenced by different microenvironments. To achieve that we use state-of-the-art single-cell RNA-seq, single-cell ATAC-seq and spatial transcriptomics data generation combined with computational analysis to establish principles of blood lineage differentiation. We are working with human foetal haematopoietic cells to reveal the dynamics and cellular programmes active during human blood development as well as cancer patient samples to investigating the influence of tumour microenvironment in the context of pathological differentiation of immune cells. We are a team of highly collaborative researchers performing exciting interdisciplinary science using the cutting-edge experimental and computational technologies.

Your job
You will have a PhD with significant experience in molecular and cell biology. You will be able to demonstrate critical thinking, will be hard working, passionate about science, and keen to learn and improve skills in a supportive research environment. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team and will be tasked with proactively seeking and maintaining appropriate collaborations. You will be expected to contribute to and support the ongoing research projects in the group on an ad hoc basis when needed, working closely with biologists, clinicians and bioinformaticians within and outside the group to accomplish scientific objectives; disseminate your expertise to new lab members and support the lab management.

Profile
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic postdoc with the following competencies and experience.

Essential experience and skills:

  • You have a PhD in Life sciences or related
  • Extensive experience in molecular and cell biology techniques
  • Extensive experience in flow cytometry and cell culture
  • Experience and knowledge in CRISPR
  • An excellent research and publication track record
  • Highly organised
  • Ability to effectively prioritise, multi-task and work independently 
  • Good English skills, written and spoken

Desirable experience and skills:

  • Experience in working with patient-derived material
  • Experience in working with organoids
  • Haematology research
  • Multiomics approaches

Place of employment
The place of employment is at the BRIC, University of Copenhagen. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in dynamic and international research environment. Our research facilities include modern laboratories and core facilities Core Facilities – University of Copenhagen (ku.dk) .

Terms of employment
The position is a full-time position (37 working hours weekly) limited to a period of 3 years. The starting date is 15 December 2022 or soon thereafter.  

Salary, pension and other conditions of employment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant organisation. Currently, the monthly salary starts at 35,500 DKK/approx. 4,770 EUR (October 2022 level). Depending on qualifications, a supplement may be negotiated. The employer will pay an additional 17.1 % to your pension fund.

Foreign and Danish applicants may be eligible for tax reductions, if they hold a PhD degree and have not been tax liable to Denmark the last 10 years.

The position is covered by the ‘Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff at the Universities of December 11, 2019’.
