The Sørensen group at BRIC has an open position for highly motivated researchers with a desire to investigate molecular mechanisms underlying cancer development and therapy responses.  

We are looking for a dynamic Postdoc for a 2-year position, commencing 1 March 2022 or as soon as possible hereafter.

Our research/The group
The goals of current projects are to understand how familial breast cancers arise as well as identifying weaknesses within malignant cells that can be exploited in the clinic to manage cancer. Our group consists of ten dedicated researchers, and we have excellent research facilities in modern laboratories. Projectfor Postdoc
The project aims to dissect new pathways in genome maintenance that may be highly important for cancer therapy. The experimental focus will be on biochemical and cell biological approaches, including advanced microscopy and CRISPR-Cas9 modified cell models. 

Qualifications 
We expect you to be a highly motivated and highly ambitious scientist with the following qualifications:

  • A PhD in Medicine or Life Sciences with focus on cancer biology, cancer genetics, biochemistry or similar 
  • A desire to make a difference through highly dedicated research   
  • Experimental expertise in genome maintenance pathways
  • Published in relevant international, peer-reviewed journals
  • Excellent English skills written and spoken 
  • The successful applicant should be experienced in generating and working with CRISPR-Cas9 cell lines as well as documented experience in cell biology, microscopy, molecular biology, and biochemistry.

Terms of salary and employment, and the further process 
The position as a Postdoc is a full-time position (37 working hours weekly) and is a fix-term position limited to a period of 2-year.<>

Salary, pension and terms of employment will be in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Academics Central organization. Currently, the monthly salary starts at 35,003 DKK/approx. 4,706 EUR (October 2021 level) plus an employer paid pension contribution of 17,1%. Depending on qualifications, a higher salary may be negotiated.  

Non-Danish and Danish applicants may be eligible for tax reductions if they hold a PhD degree and have not been tax liable in Denmark the last 10 years.
