Postdoc position in micro-protein design synthesis and application

Updated: over 1 year ago
Deadline: 02 Jan 2023

Postdoc of micro-protein design synthesis and application

Department of Chemistry.
Faculty of Science

University of Copenhagen

The research field is in the design and synthesis of microproteins with enzymatic activity. The design phase requires deep insight into molecular modelling by e. g. Molecular Operating Environment or similar professional modelling program suites. Hands on experience with establishing and running modelling in the Rosetta environment will be greatly appreciated. The most important synthesis part requires skills and experience in peptide synthesis on solid support to the extend that 50 mer peptides can be assembled using standard SPPS equipment. Knowledge of organic synthesis is also required.  The candidate should have experience in peptide and protein mass spectrometry and preferably MS-sequencing. The activity assessment requires some experience with combinatorial technology, since the activity profile of the synthetic proteins is performed with FRET substrate split-mix libraries. Applicants should demonstrate ability to compose and author manuscripts for high end journals.

The postdoc’s duties will include research within L-D-protein design, synthesis and application as well as teaching. The post may also include performance of other duties.
