Postdoc position (100% - 2 years) in psychology with a focus on research in psychotherapy delivered in private practice

The Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Copenhagen (UCPH) invites candidates for a two-year postdoctoral position at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Copenhagen. The chosen candidate will primarily work in the “Common Factors, Responsiveness and Outcome of Psychotherapy (CROP)” study together with a PhD-student and Professor Stig Poulsen (PI) and associate professor Jan Nielsen. CROP is funded by the Tryg Foundation, the Health Foundation, the Research Council of the Danish Practice Sector, the Danish Psychological Association, and the Department of Psychology, University of Copenhagen.

The preferred starting date is December 1st, 2022, but a slightly later starting date might also be possible. The position is for 24 months.

CROP investigates the process and outcome of psychotherapy delivered by psychologists in the Danish practice sector or in private practice. The study focuses on two main questions. First, how are specific characteristics of clients and psychologists related to the process and outcome of therapy and do these characteristics moderate the outcome of different psychotherapeutic approaches? Second, to what extent do therapists adapt their approach to client characteristics and preferences and how does such responsiveness to clients impact the process and outcome of therapy? The study aims to collect repeated measures from 100 psychologists and their 1,000 clients through an automated online platform. Data collection is ongoing and is expected to continue until January 2023.

The chosen candidate will focus on whether different alliance and outcome trajectories and predictors of these trajectories can be identified in the data collected for the study. Furthermore, the candidate will be encouraged to formulate and perform new studies based on the CROP data set. Data will be analyzed through quantitative methods, including multilevel, structural equation and growth mixture modeling. Requirements
Applicants should have a PhD in Psychology or a closely related subject. It is desired that applicants have experience with psychotherapy research. Further, it is desired that applicants have strong quantitative methodological skills (preferably working in the R environment), for instance with regard to multilevel and structural equation modeling. It is expected that applicants have publication experiences in internationally recognized scientific journals. It is not a requirement to understand or speak Danish.
