Updated: over 1 year ago
Job Type: FullTime
Deadline: 21 Aug 2022

A Postdoc fellowship is now available in the Centre for Catalysis and Sustainable Chemistry (CSC) at DTU Chemistry, Technical University of Denmark. CSC is applying an application-oriented research strategy and employs currently about 15-20 PhD students and post docs in an international environment.

Responsibilities and qualifications
We seek an ambitious person who is willing and able to contribute and shape long term work of the group in the field of design of nanomaterials for heterogeneous catalysis.
You will be engaged in development and synthesis of heterogeneous nanoparticle and zeolite catalysts for different applications including conversion of CO2. The project will be linked to collaborative research projects in the centre with other university partners and chemical industry. The position will involve inorganic synthesis mainly nanostructural materials, structural characterization, and catalyst testing. You will be performing synthesis, characterization and catalytic tests of the nanoparticle and zeolite catalysts using a number of different techniques.
Participation in supervision of students from the bachelor to PhD level will be an integrated part of the job and acquisition of teaching experience is expected and supported.

In the assessment of the candidates, consideration will be given to

  • scientific production and research potential at international level
  • innovative skills and the ability to generate new ideas
  • the ability to communicate scientific results at all levels
  • an all-round experience basis, preferably including international experience
  • the ability to contribute to development of the department’s internal and external cooperation
  • ability and willingness to attract funding

Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent in chemistry or chemical engineering. The candidate should have a strong background in experimental chemistry and commitment to research. The ideal candidate has a background in catalysis, inorganic chemistry and synthesis of nanostructural materials and zeolites.

Candidates should have ability to work independently, to plan and carry out complicated tasks, and to be a part of a large, dynamic group. Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English are expected.
