We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic researcher to join the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein research as a Posdoc for 2 years starting 1 January 2022.

Our research

The Protein Signaling Program’s primary research focuses on protein and signalling pathways that maintain the stability of the genome throughout the cell cycle. By joining the program you will be part of Dr. Duxin’s group and part of a dynamic and multi-disciplinary research environment present at CPR that comprises state-of-the-art facilities to protein research. Dr. Duxin’s research aims at understanding the molecular mechanisms that ensure the accurate replication and repair of the genome and understand how defects in these reactions can cause cancer and other diseases.

Your job
The candidate will primarily focus on identifying and characterizing mechanisms of DNA-protein crosslink repair. To this end, the candidate will employ proteome approaches that will be combined with the Xenopus egg extract system. These include utilizing and developing many different methods of molecular biology, biochemistry and computational analysis. The candidate will also have access to all the state-of-the art facilities present at CPR including the Mass Spectrometry, Protein Imaging, Big Data Management and Protein Production platforms.

The postdocs’ responsibilities will primarily consist of:

  • research, including publication/academic dissemination duties

Profile
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist with the following competencies and experience:

Essential experience and skills:

  • You have a PhD in biomedical sciences
  • You are highly experienced in Molecular biology, Biochemistry or Chemistry
  • Prior publication in internationally recognized journals (at least one first author publication)
  • Proficient communication skills and ability to work in teams
  • Excellent English skills written and spoken

Place of employment

The place of employment is at the Center for Protein Research, Panum institute, University of Copenhagen. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in dynamic and international research environment.

Terms of employment
The employment as postdoc is a full time and fixed-term position for 2 years. Starting date is 1 January 2022.

Salary, pension and terms of employment will be in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). Currently, the monthly salary starts at 33,600 DKK/ approx. 4,480 Euro (April 2018-level). Depending on qualifications, a supplement may be negotiated. The employer will pay an additional 17.1 % to your pension fund.

Non-Danish and Danish applicants may be eligible for tax reductions, if they hold a PhD degree and have not lived in Denmark the last 10 years.

The position is covered by the “Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff at the Universities” of June 28, 2013.
