The Machine Learning Section at the Department of Computer Science (DIKU) at the University of Copenhagen invites applicants for a two-year postdoctoral research position in the domain of privacy-preserving machine learning (ML) for medical applications, initially with a focus on secure multiparty computation, deep learning, and tree-based ML algorithms. The research will be conducted in collaboration with researchers in cryptography from Aarhus University. The postdoc can spend the time freely at DIKU in Copenhagen and at Aarhus University.
The postdoc’s duties will include research within machine learning and cryptography and participation in the Digital Research Center Denmark (DIREC). The postdoc will be supervised by ELLIS Fellow Prof. Christian Igel and Assistant Prof. Peter Scholl
The position requires a solid background in cryptography. Knowledge in machine learning and multiparty computation is a plus. Successful candidates must have demonstrated their ability to publish in top-tier venues in machine learning (NeurIPS, ICML, KDD, COLT, CVPR) and/or cryptography (Crypto, Eurocrypt, Asiacrypt, ACM CCS, IEEE S&P, USENIX Security).

The Cryptography & Security Group at Aarhus University is located within the Department of Computer Science, which is one of the top research centres in Europe within both theoretical and experimental computer science. It is home to one of the world's largest research groups in cryptography, who conduct world-leading research in a range of topics including secure multi-party computation, headed by Prof. Ivan Damgård.

Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.
