We have an opening for a postdoctoral researcher position within the fields of immunopeptidomics, degradomics and cancer immunotherapy with earliest start date of 1st of January 2022.
The successful applicant will work within the research group Protease Network Degradomics headed by Professor Ulrich auf dem Keller.
In our research group, we apply and develop advanced positional MS-based proteomics workflows to identify proteases, determine their substrates, elucidate their interactions and unravel their functions in health and disease with the aim to provide a basis for the development of novel strategies for diagnostics and therapeutic intervention.
The group is part of the Section for Protein Science and Biotherapeutics at DTU Bioengineering at Technical University of Denmark (DTU) with access to state-of-the-art facilities, including the DTU Proteomics Core with cutting-edge mass spectrometry equipment (currently two ThermoFisher Orbitrap Eclipse Tribrids, one Exploris480 and two Q Exactive Classics).
Responsibilities and qualifications
The project is funded by the Danish Cancer Society and explores a novel mechanism of proteolytic control of MHC-I tumor antigen presentation. The successful applicant will determine the immunopeptidome of cancer cell lines engineered for activity of a tumor suppressor protease with roles in cell density control and tumor antigenicity. The applicability of this mechanism in cancer immunotherapy will be evaluated in collaboration with leading researchers in the field at DTU as well as clinical collaborators.
Applicants should hold a PhD in a life sciences discipline, have excellent communication skills and be extensively trained in protein biochemistry, cell culture systems, biological sample preparation and computational data analysis. Prior experience in MS-based proteomics and immunopeptidomics would be highly advantageous, and knowledge of targeted proteomics workflows would be a strong asset.
The successful candidate is expected to have significant experience with one or more of these technologies:
- MS-based quantitative proteomics
- Immunopeptidomics (sample preparation and MS analysis)
- Mammalian cell culture
- Cell line engineering (CRISPR, shRNA)
- Immunohistochemistry
