Postdoc in Fission yeast Cell Biology

A post-doctoral positon is available at the Department of Biology, University of Copenhagen, Denmark. The successful candidate will work on a project funded by the NOVO-Nordisk Foundation investigating the mechanisms by which unstructured proteins evoke checkpoint activation in response to DNA building block perturbations in the model organism fission yeast. This project intends to use a combination of state-of-the-art yeast genetics, advanced microscopy, protein biochemistry, proteomic and genomic approaches.

Applicants should hold a PhD, or be near completion of a PhD, in a relevant subject, and have proven   expertise   in   core   molecular   biology,   cell biology and biochemical techniques. You must be highly motivated and interested in genome integrity research,   have  a  competitive   publication   record (taking career stage into account), good communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to run the project both independently and as part of a team. Experience in fission yeast genetics, live cell imaging, and advanced proteomic and genomic approaches would be advantageous.

Terms of employment

The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.

Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.

The starting salary is currently up to DKK 440.935 including annual supplement (+ pension up to DKK 75.399). Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
