Copenhagen Business School invites applications for a vacant three-year Postdoc in Family and Gender Economics at the Department of Economics.
The Department of Economics provides research, teaching and knowledge transfer within the core areas of economics, i.e., microeconomics, macroeconomics, and quantitative methods. The Department is especially active in business-related, applied economic research, data-driven decision-making, and has three research centres: Centre for Innovation (CFI), Pension Research Centre (PeRCent) and Copenhagen School of Energy Infrastructure (CSEI). The Department of Economics is very successful in fundraising activities, and it is currently hosting research projects supported by the Danish/EU research councils, as well as private foundations and companies.
The three-year postdoc has a research component and limited teaching. The postdoc will work with the group of Associate Prof. Herdis Steingrimsdottir on projects related to household decision making around parenthood, parental leave and labor market outcomes. The research conducted in this project will advance the understanding on the gender equality occurring at the off-set of parenthood, in particular the role of institutions changes, economic incentives and gender norms, and provide evidence to inform family-policies. The ideal candidate is a recent PhD with an excellent knowledge of gender economics, labor economics and/or applied micro-econometrics, and an independent research profile that fits the project. Experience in working with survey and administrative data is an advantage.
To fulfill the requirements of the position, the applicant chosen is expected to be physically present on a regular basis and actively participate in research activities and other activities of the Department.
