The Research Group for Epidemiology, Division of Diagnostics and Scientific Advice at the National Veterinary Institute of the Technical University of Denmark is seeking a candidate to fill a post doc position in data driven epidemiology. The group is a key player in the scientific advice to the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration regarding animal health and the use of livestock databases for disease monitoring.
Responsibilities and tasks
- The postdoc will conduct research in relation to an ongoing project on the potential of Danish public and private livestock databases for monitoring health and disease.
- Develop the research area of data driven epidemiology in collaboration with other researchers
- Disseminate research results in international peer-reviewed journals
- Strengthen the collaboration with the industry and other research groups
Other content of the position:
- The position is part of the epidemiology group and as such it is expected that besides research, the post doc must contribute to the scientific advice obligations as well as some teaching or supervision must be expected.
Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent.
- Documented experience in working with public livestock databases
- Publications from working with statistical methods for spatial and temporal data
- Publications from working with statistical quality control or similar methods for monitoring time-series data.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union.
DTU Vet will move to DTU Lyngby during April 2017, but the position will initially be based in Frederiksberg.
The position is open from April 1st 2017 and terminates 31st December 2019.
