Postdoc in Artificial intelligence-based health prediction for Smart battery lifetime extension(2023-224-05505)

AAU Energy has approx. 300 employees of many nationalities, of which 25 are administrative staff. In addition, AAU Energy constantly has approx. 50-70 guest researchers from around the world.
Research and teaching are in the absolute world elite in the field of energy, and we have extensive and leading workshop and laboratory facilities, where research and innovation are carried out in direct collaboration with industry to a great extent.
The position is offered in relation to the research program"Battery Storage Systems" and the Postdoc will be positioned to the section for Power Electronics System Integration and Materials.
Research areas will be within Artificial intelligence-based battery health prediction with transfer learning and the health management implementation in masters for smart battery lifetime extension. The work will focus on the implementation of advanced health prediction methods in control strategies development to extend the lifetime of smart batteries, including transfer learning-based battery health estimation and prediction, early prediction of battery health, health assessment based on probabilistic predictions, implementation of AI methods on master boards, and smart control for battery lifetime extension.
Specific requirements:
- Transfer learning-based battery health estimation and prediction using both fine-tuning and domain adaptation
- Health prognostics for smart batteries working with pulsed current
- Battery health assessment and accelerating aging detection
- Experience with battery aging experiments and AI lifetime prediction using Phyton
- The ideal candidate for this position should have a strong research interest in research related to data-driven aging model and smart battery management.

English, have strong interpersonal skills for productive collaboration with Smart Battery project team members.

Qualification requirements:
Appointment as Postdoc presupposes scientific qualifications at PhD–level or similar scientific qualifications. The research potential of each applicant will be emphasized in the overall assessment. Appointment as a Postdoc cannot exceed a period of four years in total at Aalborg University.
