Postdoc in applied ethology

We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic postdoc for a nine month position to commence the 1 March 2022 or as soon as possible hereafter.

Our research
We are a small group that is working together with epidemiologists as well as bioethicists. Our research covers a range of species of both production as well as companion animals.

Your job

Your tasks would be to participate in current projects in the field of applied ethology as well as helping with the teaching of the relevant courses given by the section.

Profile
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist with the following competencies and experience:

Essential experience and skills:

• You have a PhD in ethology/applied ethology
• You are highly experienced in cattle behaviour and welfare
• Proficient communication skills and ability to work in teams
• Excellent English skills written and spoken

Desirable experience and skills:

• Knowledge of psychological learning theory
• Experience in working with cattle
• Experience in teaching

Place of employment

The place of employment is at the Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, University of Copenhagen. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in dynamic and international research environment.

Terms of employment
The average weekly working hours are 37 hours per week.

The position is a fixed-term position limited to a period of nine months. The start date is 1 March 2022 or as soon as possible hereafter.

Salary, pension and other conditions of employment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). Currently, the monthly salary starts at 36,800 DKK/approx. 4,940 EUR (October 2021 level). Depending on qualifications, a supplement may be negotiated. The employer will pay an additional 17.1 % to your pension fund.

Foreign and Danish applicants may be eligible for tax reductions, if they hold a PhD degree and have not lived in Denmark the last 10 years.

The position is covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities 2020.
