If you are an experienced researcher within the field of Sustainability and Circular Economy, looking for a thriving work environment with lots of development opportunities, consider joining us at DTU!

At DTU Mechanical Engineering, we have recently started a new project, ready2LOOP (www.ready2loop.org ), supported by the Industry Foundation. The project is expanding our current Circular Economy readiness platform, originally designed for manufacturing companies, to six other positions in the value chain.

One of the essential tasks of the ready2LOOP project is to expand and further develop the scientific contents and logic of the platform, from the current focus on manufacturing companies, to also include raw materials providers; component manufacturers; logistics companies; retailers; consumers; and value recovery companies.

Responsibilities and qualifications

You should be highly motivated and self-driven, as well as have a strong work ethic, team spirit and excellent collaboration skills.

As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) in mechanical engineering, production engineering or environmental engineering.

The ideal candidate should have experience with the following:

  • Systematic literature reviewing and theoretical data analysis
  • Exploratory and quantitative data analysis
  • Advanced knowledge of theory on sustainable design, product/service-systems and circular economy
  • Survey design and analysis of Likert data
  • Preparation and execution of focus group-, practitioner- and expert-workshops
  • Advanced experience in scientific writing and publication at international journal level
  • Basic knowledge of scientific data and creation of affinity clusters for input to recommender systems would be a plus.

Good command of written and spoken English is required, and experience with industrial manufacturing companies and the topic of circular economy is desirable.

Experience working in interdisciplinary teams is necessary to ensure a strong collaboration with the project partners (incl. data scientist, UX designer, users and the software developer).
