PhD: Dynamic Modeling and Simulation of Green Ammonia Production Through Flexible Ammonia Plants and Low-cost Electrolysis

Updated: about 1 year ago
Job Type: FullTime
Deadline: 02 Apr 2023

The Biological & Chemical Engineering department has an exciting PhD position for Dynamic Modeling and Simulation of a Green Ammonia Plant. In this project, you will build a dynamic model for a solid oxide electrolyzer cells (SOEC) reactor developed by Topsoe and use that to simulate and analyze the performance of a green ammonia plant. The case studies will consist of a renewable electricity source for hydrogen production, where the dynamic nature of the power source will affect the ammonia plant’s operating conditions. The simulation model will consider different scenarios in operating electrolyzers and ammonia reactors at the plant level.
