Laboratory Assistant, Treebak Group

We are looking for an experienced Laboratory Assistant to support the work of the Treebak Group at The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research (CBMR), to start February 1, 2023, or after agreement.

Our research

The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research’s vision is to strengthen interdisciplinary research that transforms our basic understanding of the mechanisms that underlie metabolic health and disease, and to accelerate this knowledge toward new prevention and treatment strategies. We were established in 2010 and in 2017, we moved into new laboratories, offices and meeting rooms in the Maersk Tower www.maersktower.ku.dk .

Our group and research

The overarching goal of the Treebak Group is to define the molecular and physiological mechanisms by which dietary compounds, weight loss, and physical activity improve metabolic health to prevent and treat obesity and type 2 diabetes. The different job tasks will be

  • Assisting in the handling of samples from animal studies
  • Preparation and labelling of samples for analysis and/or storage
  • General lab assistance, including cleaning and maintenance of equipment.

Essential criteria

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good organizational skills and capacity for time management
  • Capacity to work in teams of multidisciplinary professionals
  • Attention to details
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Danish skills

Place of employment

The place of employment is the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research, Maersk Tower, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in a dynamic and international research environment.

Terms of salary and employment

The employment as laboratory Assistant is a part time and fixed-term position. The average working hours is 10 hours pr. week. Expected starting date is February 1, 2023.

Employment as Laboratory Assistant will be in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and OAO/HK STAT. The position is placed in salary group 1.
