Are you passionate about Human Centered AI and can you help build the next generations of AI systems within the Danish Pioneer Centre for AI? 

DTU Compute has an attractive group leader opening as Tenure Track Assistant / Associate Professors in AI. The position is initially funded by the Pioneer Centre for AI . 

Responsibilities and qualifications

Excellent candidates in AI methods such as (but not limited to) machine learning algorithms and computation, reinforcement learning, causal modeling, natural language processing, visual computing, explainability, fairness or in AI applications in e.g., the social, neuro, or natural sciences, are encouraged to apply. The position comes with a start package funded by the Pioneer Centre. The package will allow you to build a group of PhD-students and Postdocs. 

Being affiliated with DTU Compute and the Pioneer Centre you and your group will be part of a large, vibrant and welcoming environment which is internationally rooted. The university is located in the greater Copenhagen area, which is acknowledged for its excellent standards of living, childcare and welfare system. 

As a part of your responsibilities as a DTU Assistant/Associate professor, you will: 

  • Publish impactful work in leading AI conferences and journals.
  • Secure funding for your research from national and international sources.
  • Teach, guide, and supervise BSc and MSc students, as well as supervise PhD students (co-supervise, if Assistant Professor).
  • Actively support and contribute to the BSc AI and Data and the MSc Human Centered AI.
  • Actively participate in creating a vibrant and productive research environment. 

You must be responsible for the teaching of courses. DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages, and in time are expected to master both. 

As formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent). If you are applying for the associate professor position you should also have academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding an assistant professorship and documented didactic/pedagogic training.
