Assistant professorship at the Centre for Alcohol and Drug Research in the field of ‘governing adolescent intoxication and sexuality’
The Centre for Alcohol and Drug Research invites applications for a 3-year position as assistant professor in the field of ‘governing adolescent intoxication and sexuality’ in Denmark.
The position is part of the larger research project ‘Intoxicated Adolescent Relations’ headed by Margit Anne Petersen and funded by Independent Research Fund Denmark (Sapere Aude).
The project is based at the Copenhagen-department (Campus Emdrup) and the candidate must begin September 1st 2023..
The overall research project focuses on the role alcohol intoxication plays in adolescent social and sexual relations with a particular focus on the boundaries between consensual and non-consensual sexual encounters.
The project contains two subprojects; A PhD project on the role of social media, and the other on policy and the parental role, advertised here. You can read more about the overall project here: https://psy.au.dk/aktuelt/vis/artikel/sapere-aude-bevilling-til-lektor-margit-anne-petersen
https://dff.dk/forskningsprojekter/forskningsleder/dff-forskningsledere-2022/margit-anne-petersen
The subproject:
Through focus groups with parents on their involvement, ways of handling and understanding gender relations, intoxication and sexuality among their teenagers (14-17 years old) as well as a policy analysis, the project explores how intoxicated sexual encounters are governed and how prevention strategies, policies and parental control have changed over time.
The assistant professor will be expected to take part in the larger project by conducting some interviews and collaborating on analyses and other joint activities. The data collection is to take place in Denmark, so the candidate must be fluent in Danish. We are looking for a candidate with a social science background (Anthropology, Sociology or related fields). It will be considered an asset if applicants have experience in qualitative methods and previous knowledge of or experience within the research topic.
For questions about the position, please contact Associate Professor Margit Anne Petersen: map.crf@psy.au.dk
