At the Faculty of Engineering and Science, Department of Materials and Production at Aalborg University, Aalborg Campus, one or more positions as Part-Time lectures in Logistics is open for appointment from 1 maj, 2023. Department of Materials and Production (MP) is a wide-ranging research and educational environment at Aalborg University. The Department's mission is to meet the future's demands for new materials and production systems by directing the whole value chain from basic material understanding, materials' applications in mechanical constructions, industrial production and management. The department has several strong, international and innovative research groups, which comprise everything from basic science to strategic and applicable research. The activities encompass research as well as education within materials, mechanics, physics, production technique, and industrial management and innovation.  Benefitting the industry and additional collaborators, several innovative and unconventional collaborations have been and are developed through interdisciplinary co-operations.  Thereby, as an employee at the Department you will become a part of an international research environment, where focus is on innovation, knowledge sharing/building and interdisciplinary collaborations.


Job description

Teaching and supervision will primarily be in Retail Distribution, Production Planning and Control, Forecasting and Inventory Control, but also in other study programmes at the University.

Applicants must hold academic qualifications at master’s degree level.

Employment as a part-time lecturer requires either relevant practical experience at a high level which has not been gained through academic employment with a university, or employment in an academic principal position with another university.

Teaching qualifications are included in the assessment of applicants for a part-time lectureship.

A part-time lecturer who is employed on the merits of his or her relevant practical experience must possess in-depth, up-to-date knowledge of the possible applications of the subject/academic discipline. This knowledge is/has been acquired through employment within the subject/academic discipline.

The application must include CV with a list of publications, diplomas and teaching portfolio or equivalent documentation of teaching experience and qualifications.

Shortlisting will be applied. After the review of any objections regarding the assessment committee, the head of department, with assistance from the chair of the assessment committee, selects the candidates to be assessed. All applicants will be informed as to whether they will advance to assessment or not.

Employment is in accordance with the Ministry of Higher Education and Science’s Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities in force at the time in question. Employment and salary are in accordance with the agreement in force at the time in question between The Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) concerning part-time Lecturers.
