We are looking for a new colleague with animal metabolism specialisation.

Academic staff member - Senior Researcher for the study of animal metabolism

The Institute of Animal Nutrition and Forage (222) provides educational and scientific activities in the field of nutrition for farm and other animals - including its influence on the composition and quality of animal products; animal health and metabolism; feed production, conservation, storage and treatment technology; feed consultancy; animal nutrition in organic farming and in the field of fodder and turf farming. The department provides teaching in Czech and English at all levels (bachelor's, master's and doctoral) of the Faculty of Agriculture and selected subjects also at other faculties of the university. The Institute also carries out laboratory and experimental activities related to animal nutrition and health.

Research field:

• study of the metabolism of animals - especially ruminants
• energy and nitrogen metabolism
• metabolism of trace elements and other mineral substances
• colostral nutrition and calf disease
• animal clinical biochemistry

What will you do?

• deputy manager for laboratories
• methodical management of laboratories
• clinical biochemistry
• management of qualification works
• mentoring of doctoral study program students
• teaching in Czech and English
• scientific research and publication activity
• submission of grant applications

What do we require from you?

• associate professor in the field of animal nutrition or health
• experience in clinical biochemistry, laboratory work, laboratory management and team leadership
• ability to submit and resolve research grant projects
• ability to teach in both Czech and English
• international contacts and experience in animal nutrition and health
• extensive publication activity in magazines with IF (H-index min 12)

Required research experience:

• experience with the preparation and solution of research projects
• experience with laboratory analysis and team management
• experience with publishing activities
