Postdoctoral Researcher in Numerical Algorithms for Exascale

With the future of exascale computing on the horizon, it is of critical importance to design numerical algorithms capable of exploiting the underlying computer hardware. The Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University invites applicants for a 1-year postdoctoral position in high-performance numerical linear algebra.

The project is focused on exploiting multiprecision hardware in numerical computations targeting future exascale systems, and will involve rigorous error analysis and algorithm development. The candidate should have background in one or more of the following areas:

  • Finite precision analysis
  • Sparse iterative solvers
  • Multigrid/hierarchical solvers
  • Parallel numerical linear algebra

The anticipated start date is January 2020. The anticipated salary expected for the position is 52000 CZK (about 2000 EUR) per month.

The application deadline is October 31, 2020, although the position will remain open until filled.
To apply, candidates should submit the following documents to :

  • Curriculum Vitae (including list of publications)
  • Cover letter explaining motivation and interest
  • Brief summary of PhD thesis (including pdf file of PhD thesis if available)

In addition, the candidate should arrange for two letters of recommendation to be sent directly to the same e-mail address before the application deadline.
