Research Engineer - Geographic Information Systems (GIS) (# of pos: 2)

The KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence (CoE) (www.kios.ucy.ac.cy ) at the University of Cyprus announces two (2) Research Engineer positions, focusing in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), for full-time employment. The successful candidates will conduct research and development activities within the context of research and innovation, as well as provide technical and research support in the area of Information and Communication technologies with emphasis on the monitoring, control and security of critical infrastructure systems. Additionally, will implement and/or support running and future projects in order for the Center to achieve its strategic objectives.

Who we are:

The KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence is the largest research center at the University of Cyprus and in 2017 was upgraded to a European Research Center of Excellence through the KIOS CoE Teaming project. Currently, the Center employs more than 170 people who are supported by externally funded research and innovation projects. Job Details Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate is expected to:

• Provide GIS support to areas related to monitoring, control and security of critical infrastructure systems

• Work with GIS technologies such as QGIS, ArcGIS, Postgres, Geoserver, Geonode, GeoDjango etc.

• Undertake GIS mapping, analysis, data capture, data management and geoprocessing

• Prepare project repots and project deliverables.

• Work with python to create QGIS plug-ins

• Work with spatial databases
