Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, J.J. Strossmayer University of Osijek invites applications for two Senior Teaching Assistants in Social Sciences, Information and Communication Sciences, Library Science, on a temporary, full-time basis

Specific Requirements

In addition to the general requirements prescribed by the Labour Act (Official Gazette 93/14,127/17, 98/19, 151/22 and 64/23), applicants are required to meet the following conditions set in Article 39, Section 7 of the Scientific Activity and Higher Education Act (Official Gazette 119/2022),  as well as Article 123 Section 5  and Article  124 of the Statute of J.J. Strossmayer University of Osijek, Article 47 Section 4 and Article 48  of the Statute of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the conditions laid out in Article 43 of the J.J. Strossmayer Book of Regulations on the Procedure of (Re)appointment to Academic Ranks and Corresponding Positions.

Applicants must submit the required documentation in accordance with the appropriate form (Form No 5) available on the Faculty's website (http://www.ffos.hr/  O nama / Dokumenti / Uvjeti napredovanja nastavnika / Pravilnici).

Foreign applicants are required to submit proof of command of the Croatian language in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (B2).

Applicants who pursue their right of advantage based on special regulations- the Law on the Rights of Croatian Defenders from the Homeland War and their Family Members (Official Gazette 121/17., 98/19. and 84/21.), Article  48 of The law on the civilian Homeland War victims (Official Gazette  84/21.), Article  48 of  the Law on the protection of military and civilian war invalids (Official Gazette 33/92., 57/92., 77/92., 27/93., 58/93., 2/94., 76/94., 108/95., 108/96., 82/01., 103/03., 148/13. and  98/19.), Article 99 the Professional rehabilitation and employment of disabled person Act  (Official Gazette 157/13., 152/14., 39/18. and  32/20.) are required to call upon that right in the application and submit appropriate and applicable legal documents supporting the claim. Advantage in the application process is claimed only under equal terms.

Candidates who call upon the right of advantage in employment pursuant to Article 9 of the Professional rehabilitation and employment of disabled person Act  (Official Gazette 157/13., 152/14., 39/18. and  32/20.) are required to call upon the right in their application and submit all required proof of meeting the criteria, as well as proof of disability.

Eligibility criteria

The Call is open under equal terms to person of all genders. Late or incomplete applications shall not be considered.

Elligible candidates are ones who submit a full and complete application to the Call and meet the formal requirements of the Call.

The application is considered complete if it contains all the required data and appendixes as outlined in the Call, and is personally signed by the applicant.

Selection process

Applicants meeting the general requirements, who have submitted an application to the Call and proof of meeting the criteria in electronic form, are required to attend testing/ an interview before a Committee, i.e. Level 2 of the process, and will be notified of the venue and time of the testing/ interview via the Faculty webpage (www.ffos.unios.hr ). Applicants who fail to attend the testing(interview) will be considered to have withdrawn their application and will not be considered eligible applicants.

By submitting an application to the Call for Applications, the applicants explicitly consent to Josip Juraj Strossmayer University, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences as the manager of a database of personal data being allowed to collect, use and further process data for the purpose of carrying out the Application procedure, pursuant to the regulations of the Personal Data Protection Act (Official Gazette 106/12)

All applicants are required to include the filled and signed Form 9 (Privola) with their application. Form 9, granting permission to have all their personal data in the submitted documents collected and processes in accordance with the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) (Text with EEA relevance) is available at the Faculty's webpage (https://www.ffos.unios.hr/dokumenti ). The applicants shall submit a personally signed Privola. Lack of a signed Privola renders the application incomplete.

The Call is open 30 days from the date of publication.

Applicants will be notified of the results within 8 days following the termination date via the Faculty webpage. The Faculty reserves the right to also notify the applicants via email.
