Requirements for candidates: completed postgraduate university study and obtained the academic PhD title in the field of biotechnical sciences, area of food technology.

Additional requirements for candidates: advantage will be given to candidates whose scientific activity is focused on research on the composition, production technology and quality of olive oil, who have experience in working on scientific and other projects on the mentioned and related topics, who have ten or more scientific papers published in journals indexed in the database of Web of Science (WoS) related to olive oil research, and who have: several years of experience in managing the laboratory for physico-chemical analysis of olive oil, knowledge and experience in sensory analysis of olive oil, several years of experience in managing a quality assurance system in an accredited laboratory, and several years of experience in working in expert groups and/or commissions related to olives and olive oil within international organizations and national public/state bodies.

Specific Requirements

Along with a letter of application to the tender signed by hand, the following should be attached:

A)   curriculum vitae that includes general information (address, date of birth, citizenship, etc.), information on education and acquired qualifications, i.e. academic degrees, information on previous jobs, previous elections to scientific titles, knowledge of foreign languages, other previous career details, etc.

B)   proof of the academic degree of Doctor of Science (PhD) in the corresponding scientific field and area,

C)   summary of scientific activities that includes data on master’s (if applicable) and doctoral theses, published scientific papers relevant for the selection to the job position, participation in domestic and foreign scientific-research projects, participation in conferences, mentoring of applicants at postgraduate studies and supervision of master’s and doctoral theses, functions performed, collaborations achieved, memberships, awards for scientific work, etc.,

D)   evidence of compliance with the National university, scientific and artistic criteria prescribed by the Ordinance on the Conditions for Election to Scientific Titles,

E)   evidence of fulfilment of additional criteria from the Ordinance on Additional Conditions for the Selection to Scientific Job Positions at the Institute,

F)    evidence of the fulfilment of additional conditions on the basis of which the advantage is achieved,

G)   certificate of the Croatian Pension Insurance Institute on employment status.

The candidates who requested that the criteria prescribed by the Ordinance on the Amendments and Supplements of the Ordinance on the Conditions for Election to Scientific Titles (Official Gazette 111/22) should be applied for their selection, should submit data about the fulfilment of these criteria as well.

A candidate who has obtained a higher education qualification abroad (outside Croatia) must, together with the application for a scientific position, attach an Opinion on the evaluation of a foreign higher education qualification issued by the Agency for Science and Higher Education or a Certificate about the initiation of the evaluation procedure of a foreign higher education qualification issued by the Agency for Science and Higher Education.

Only a person registered in the Register of Scientists can be employed in a scientific position.

A complete application is considered to be the one that is signed by hand and contains all the information and attachments listed in the public tender.

A person who has not submitted a timely or complete application or does not meet the formal requirements of the public tender is not considered a candidate in the public tender procedure.

By submitting the application to the tender, tender candidates expressly agree that the Institute of Agriculture and Tourism, as the manager of the collection of personal data, can collect, use and further process data for the purpose of implementing the tender procedure in accordance with the regulations governing the protection of personal data.

Candidates who, on the basis of special regulations, have advantage in employment, are obliged to refer to that right in their application and to attach all the evidence that special regulations prescribe for exercising that right. Preference in employment according to the tender in question will be achieved in relation to other candidates only under equal conditions, established by this tender.

Candidates who refer to priority rights in employment in accordance with Article 9 of the Act on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities (Official Gazette 157/13, 152/14, 39/18, 32/20), together with the evidence of meeting the required conditions, must also provide evidence of the established status of a disabled person.

The selected candidate will be invited to submit the originals of other evidence for fulfilling the formal conditions from the public tender within a reasonable period of time, with a warning that failure to submit the required documents is considered a withdrawal from the employment relationship.

Eligibility criteria

The expert committee for the implementation of the public job tender is appointed by the Scientific Council of the Institute of Agriculture and Tourism. If necessary, knowledge and skills will be checked by written and/or oral testing, interview and/or conversation, and the content and method of testing, interview and/or conversation and resources for candidate preparation, place and time will be announced on the Institute’s website: www.iptpo.hr . Candidates who do not attend the knowledge and skills test, interview and/or conversation will be considered to have withdrawn their application from this job tender and will not be considered candidates for the tender. The time and place of the test will be announced at least five (5) days before the day set for the test on the website of the Institute of Agriculture and Tourism: www.iptpo.hr .

Selection process

If no persons who meet the basic prescribed conditions apply for the public tender, or if the registered candidates do not pass the test, the head of the Institute will suspend the procedure for this tender.

The Institute reserves the right, in part or in full, to cancel the tender and reserves the right not to decide on the selection of candidates without a special explanation.

Delivery of the decision to all candidates is considered to be completed at the end of the eighth day from the publication on the website of the Institute of Agriculture and Tourism: www.iptpo.hr .

Persons of both genders have the right to apply for the tender under equal conditions.

Incomplete and untimely applications will not be considered.

Unselected candidates can appeal the decision on the selection of another candidate to the head of the Institute.

The deadline for submitting tender applications is 30 days from the date of the publication in the Official Gazette.
