Based on Articles 48, 51 and 52 of the Statute of the Institute, Class: 007-02/23-01/01, Registration number: 251-768-08-23-4 dated 16 September 2023, the Institute for Development and International Relations, Zagreb, announces a

VACANCY

for the position of:

Research associate, scientific field of social sciences, area of interdisciplinary social sciences (political science, economics and law) in the Department for Resource Economy, Environmental Protection and Regional Development - 1 researcher (m/f) for an indefinite period.

Requirements:

Applicants need to fulfill the following:

-       criteria prescribed by the Law on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (Official Gazette 119/2022);

-       national criteria prescribed by the Ordinance on Conditions for the Selection to Scientific Professions (Official Gazette No. 28/17, 72/19, 21/21). If the candidate so requests, the provisions of the Ordinance on Revisions and Amendments to the Ordinance on Conditions for the Selection to Scientific Professions (Official Gazette 111/22) will be applied to his election;

-       additional criteria prescribed by the Ordinance on Additional Conditions for Selection and Re-selection to Scientific Positions of the Institute for Development and International Relations, Class: 007-02/23-01/08, Registration number: 251-768-11-23-1, dated 7 December 2023 (https://irmo.hr/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Pravilnik-o-dodatnim-kriterijima-za-izbor-i-reizbor-na-znanstvena-radna-mjesta.pdf );

-       excellent command of spoken and written English.

Applicants must submit:

-       written application;

-       curriculum vitae with biographical data (data on date and place of birth, citizenship, acquired qualification or academic degrees, knowledge of foreign languages, work in scientific societies and awards for scientific or artistic and teaching work, etc.);

-       proof of academic degree;

-       information on meeting the National University, Scientific and Artistic Criteria (papers in PDF required for selection to the post of scientific associate, and if the applicant has a Decision on selection to the scientific title of scientific associate, he only attaches the said Decision);

-       data on the fulfillment of additional criteria prescribed by the Rulebook on additional conditions for selection and re-selection to scientific positions of the Institute for Development and International Relations Class: 007-02/23-01/08, Registration number: 251-768-11-23-1 of 7 December 12, 2023;

-       listing of published scientific papers and/or a listing of published scientific papers entered in the Croatian scientific bibliography as a standard printout;

-       proof of command of the English language (certificates, certificates, copy of the index, published works in a foreign language, etc.).

A candidate requesting that the provisions of the Ordinance on Amendments to the Ordinance on Conditions for Selection to Scientific Professions (Official Gazette No. 111/22) be applied to his election should submit information on meeting the criteria prescribed by the aforementioned Ordinance and information on meeting additional criteria prescribed by the Ordinance on additional criteria for selection and re-selection to scientific positions.

General provisions

A trial period of 6 months may be arranged for all positions.

An applicant who has obtained a higher education qualification abroad must attach an opinion on the evaluation of the foreign higher education qualification issued by the Agency for Science and Higher Education or a certificate on the initiation of the evaluation procedure of the foreign higher education qualification of the Agency for Science and Higher Education.

The employer can conduct testing of applicants who meet the formal conditions of the tender. Applicants will be notified of the dates and methods of possible testing via the email they provided in the application.

This competition was published in the Official Gazette, on the websites of the Institute and the Croatian Employment Service, and for positions numbered 1, 2 and 3 on the official website for positions of the European Research Area.

Applicants who refer to the right of priority during employment in accordance with Article 102 of the Act on Croatian Veterans of the Homeland War and their family members, and who at the time of submitting the application meet the conditions for exercising this right, are required to attach all evidence of compliance with the application to the public tender of the required conditions from the tender and evidence for exercising the right of preference during employment.
