Offer Description

One candidate for the position of research associate (1), in the scientific area of Biotechnical sciences, scientific field of Forestry.

The applicants for this position are required to enclose:

• their signed CV (Europass)
• proof of citizenship
• motivation letter
• a copy of the certificate of the achieved doctoral title in the scientific area forestry, branch: Genetics, Forest Tree Breeding and Seed Science
• a copy of the diploma of completed master's university study of Forestry or Urban Forestry, Nature and Environmental Protection
• evidence of work experience
•  a copy of a driving licence
• other evidence that the applicant considers relevant,
•  list of scientific and professional papers in the scientific area Forestry, Genetics, Forest Tree Breeding and Seed Science or Ecology and Silviculture with a number of scientific papers published in Web of Science (WoS) database
• proof of leading and/or participating in scientific research projects
• proof of completed additional professional educations in laboratory analysis in the field of Forestry, Genetics, Forest Tree Breeding and Seed Science
• proof of working on professional international and national research projects and surveys
• proof of English language proficiency in speaking and writing (minimum B2)
• applicants who are foreign citizens should attach proof of citizenship, proof of knowledge of the Croatian language in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages at level C2, and proof of recognition of a foreign higher education qualification.

In addition to the general conditions for employment defined by the Labor Act („Narodne novine" - Official Gazette of the Republic of Croatia, issue NN 93/14, 127/17, 98/19 i 151/22 and conditions defined by the Act on Scientific Activity and Higher Education (Official Gazette of the Republic of Croatia, issue 119/2022) the applicants (m/f) must fulfil must meet the following mandatory conditions:

• Hold a PhD in the scientific field of forestry, branch: Genetics, Forest Tree Breeding and Seed Science
• Additional conditions determined by the Regulation of Croatian Forest Research Institute regarding additional conditions for the selection of scientific positions
• Completed graduate university study Forestry or graduate university study Urban Forestry, Nature and Environmental Protection
• Experience in leading and/or participating in scientific and/or professional international and national research projects and surveys
• Knowledge of MS Office,
• Category B driving licence
• Knowledge of English in speech and writing (B2)
• Applicants are expected to be willing to work outdoors and in the forest

Additional Information
Eligibility criteria

A person who has not submitted a timely or complete application or does not meet the formal requirements of the public tender is not considered a candidate in the public tender procedure, and will receive a written notification.

The Croatian Forestry Institute reserves the right to conduct knowledge and skills testing for registered candidates who meet the formal requirements. Candidates will be notified of the place and time of the examination by email to the email address they provide in the application. If the candidate does not attend the verification, it is considered that he has withdrawn his application for the competition.

By applying for the tender, applicants expressly agree that the Croatian Forestry Institute, as the manager of the collection of personal data, can collect, use and further process data for the purpose of implementing the tender procedure in accordance with the regulations governing the protection of personal data, especially Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 27, 2016 on the protection of individuals in connection with the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and on the repeal of Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation).
