Based on Articles 48, 51 and 52 of the Statute of the Institute, Class: 007-02/23-01/01, Registration number: 251-768-08-23-4 dated 16 September 2023, the Institute for Development and International Relations, Zagreb, announces a

VACANCY

for the position of:

Research assistant, scientific field of social sciences, political science or economics in the Department for International Economic and Political Relations - 2 researchers (m/f) for a five-year fixed-term employment. With a person who was already employed as an assistant, the employment term can only be for the remaining time of up to 5 years.

Requirements:

In addition to the general employment criteria from Article 39, paragraphs 4 and 6 of the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity, applicants need to meet the following criteria:

-       completed undergraduate and graduate university studies, i.e. integrated undergraduate and graduate university studies in the field of social sciences, area of economics or political science with a total of 300 ECTS credits, i.e. a university degree in accordance with the regulations that were in force before the entry into force of the Act on Scientific Activities and Higher Education;

-       additional criteria prescribed by the Ordinance on Additional Criteria for Selection of Research Assistants, Appointment of Mentors and Evaluation of the Work of Assistants and Mentors, Class: 007-02/23-01/06, Registration number: 251-768-08-23-1, dated 27 December 2023 (https://irmo.hr/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Pravilnik-o-dodatnim-kriterijima-za-izbor-assistenata-imenonanju-mentora-i-ocjeni-rada-suradnika-i-mentora.pdf );

-       an overall grade point average at previous levels of study (undergraduate and graduate, or integrated study) which ensures admission to doctoral study in the required field;

-       excellent command of spoken and written English.

Candidates must submit:

-       written application;

-       curriculum vitae (email address for contact, general information, education information, education and academic degree);

-       proof of the required level of education (copy of diploma, etc.);

-       proof of fulfillment of additional criteria prescribed by the Ordinance on additional criteria for the selection of assistants, appointment of mentors and evaluation of the work of associates and mentors Class: 007-02/23-01/06, Registration number: 251-768-08-23-1 dated 27.12. in 2023;

-       proof of command of the English language (certificates, certificates, copy of the index, published works in a foreign language, etc.);

-       transcript of grades for candidates who have not enrolled in doctoral studies or proof of enrolled doctoral studies in the requested scientific field and area;

-       electronic record or confirmation with data recorded in the database of the Croatian Pension Insurance Institute;

-       an applicant who has already been employed as an assistant is obliged to submit copies of previous contracts of work as research assistant or a certificate from the employer/employers stating the period during which the candidate worked as research assistant.

General provisions

A trial period of 6 months may be arranged for all positions.

An applicant who has obtained a higher education qualification abroad must attach an opinion on the evaluation of the foreign higher education qualification issued by the Agency for Science and Higher Education or a certificate on the initiation of the evaluation procedure of the foreign higher education qualification of the Agency for Science and Higher Education.

The employer can conduct testing of applicants who meet the formal conditions of the tender. Applicants will be notified of the dates and methods of possible testing via the email they provided in the application.

This competition was published in the Official Gazette, on the websites of the Institute and the Croatian Employment Service, and on the official website for positions of the European Research Area.
