University of Rijeka Faculty of Medicine, Rijeka, Croatia is seeking a highly motivated person for the position of postdoctoral researcher on the project “Cytomegalovirus latency in the central nervous system”.

Number of employees sought: 1

Place of work: Center for Proteomics, University of Rijeka Faculty of Medicine, Braće Branchetta 20, 51000 Rijeka, Croatia

Contract duration: 24 months

The postdoctoral candidate will be employed with the corresponding complexity coefficient (1,600) in accordance with the Regulation on job titles and complexity coefficients in public services.

Required qualifications and other conditions:

• in accordance with the provisions of the Science and Higher Education Act of the Republic of Croatia and general acts of the University of Rijeka and Faculty of Medicine on selection of candidates for scientific-teaching, teaching and associate positions
• possession of a doctoral degree in the field of natural sciences (molecular biology or biochemistry), biomedicine and health (medicine, veterinary medicine) or biotechnology (molecular biotechnology) or interdisciplinary field of science (biotechnology in biomedicine)
• fluency in English language

• advanced IT skills

• previous recognition and awards for excellence in research
• participation in scientific research, publications, presentations at scientific conferences

Applicants who are not native Croatian language speakers must provide evidence of Croatian language proficiency (B2 level) according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Foreign national applicants are required to formally acknowledge the validity of their foreign education qualification.
