OFFER DESCRIPTION

University of Rijeka, Faculty of Medicine, Croatia announces the call for applications for the following position: Postdoctoral Research Assistant in the scientific area of biomedicine and health, scientific field of basic medical sciences, scientific branch of human genetics, genomics and proteomics, at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Rijeka. Full-time job (limited-term contract).

Applicants who are not native speakers of Croatian language should provide evidence of Croatian language proficiency (B2 level) according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Foreign nation applicants are required to formally acknowledge the validity of their foreign education qualification.

The vacancy is open to male and female candidates (Article 13, Paragraph 2 of the Act on Gender Equality, Official Gazette 116/03).

Applicants who exercise the right to priority in employment under the Act on Croatian Homeland War Veterans and Members of Their Families (list of evidence for exercising the right to priority in employment – ZOHBDR 2021.pdf (gov.hr) ), the Act on Civilian Homeland War Victims (list of evidence for exercising the right to priority in employment – the Act on Civilian Homeland War Victims.pdf (gov.hr) ), the Act on the Protection of Military Personnel and Civilians Disabled in the Homeland War and the Act on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities are obligated to submit evidence of compliance with these conditions.

Application deadline is 30 days since published in the Official Gazette. Applications should be submitted to the Office of Legal, Personnel and General Affairs (at the Registry Office) of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Rijeka, Braće Branchetta 20, HR-51000 Rijeka, Croatia.

Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

Skills/Qualifications

Requirements:

Applicants must meet the requirements specified by the Act on Scientific Activity and Higher Education and the Decision on the Requirements for the Evaluation of Teaching and Professional Activities stipulated by the Rector's Conference and the National Council for Science, Higher Education, and Technological Development (Official Gazette 122/17, dated 8 December 2017).

Specific Requirements

Applicants submit their documentation according to the Instructions for writing an application for election to the scientific-teaching rank (can be found on the Faculty's website).

• signed letter of request, Curriculum Vitae, description of their scientific and teaching activity, evidence on assessment from student surveys (does not apply to election for the Assistant Professor position), evidence on employment from the teaching base, medical certificate by a certified occupational physician (for the first election only) – must be submitted in paper form. These documents, along with other evidence on employment eligibility, should also be uploaded and submitted on a USB flash drive exclusively in PDF format.

• average grade certificate for the Teaching Assistant position
• copy of the diploma or certificate of completed study (degree certificate)
• medical certificate by a certified occupational physician (for the first election only).
• documents should be submitted in paper form and on a USB flash drive in PDF format.
