Assistant professor in the scientific field of Social Sciences, scientific branch: Communication Sciences at the Department of Journalism and Media Production, Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Zagreb.

All applicants (M/F) have to meet the requirements specified by the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (Official Gazette of the Republic of Croatia No. 119/2022) and other relevant bylaws.

Advantages in the selection of candidates for the job position:

• Scientific interest in the media role of language and written journalism demonstrated through academic publications.
• Experience in teaching mandatory subjects related to media language and written journalism.
• Familiarity with research methods applicable in the analysis of media language and forms of written journalism.

Specific Requirements

Both male and female candidates can apply for the competition under equal conditions in accordance with Article 13 of the Gender Equality Act (NN 82/2008, 125/2011, 20/2012, 138/2012, 69/2017).

Applicants who invoke the right to employment under a special law in accordance with Article 9 of the Law on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities (Official Gazette 157/2013, 152/2014, 39/2018 and 32/2020) are invited to enclose proof of the established status of a person with disabilities.

Applicants who invoke the right to employment under a special law in accordance with Article 48.f of the Law on the Protection of War and Civilian Invalids (NN 33/1992, 57/1992, 77/1992, 27/1993, 58/1993, 2/1994, 76/1994, 108/1995, 108/1996, 82/2001, 103/2003, 148/2013, and 98/2019) are invited to enclose a decision or a certificate showing the aforementioned right, as well as proof of how the employment was terminated.

Selection process

The application must be accompanied by: curriculum vitae, copies of diplomas or an equivalent document proving the recognition of external qualification, applicants elected in research position also need to submit proof of election, proof of citizenship, proof of advanced knowledge of the Croatian language for foreign nationals, proof of work experience in relevant jobs (electronic record of data recorded in the registry of the Croatian Institute for Pension Insurance), evidence of fulfillment of other prescribed conditions, including a list of published papers and the papers themselves, along with a statement of their originality (according to the template, available at https://www.fpzg.unizg.hr/o_fpzg-u/natjecaji_za_radna_mjesta  as indicated in the competition announcement), confirmations of participation in scientific conferences and other activities, as well as involvement in the work of scientific and professional projects.

All applicants who meet the requirements prescribed by the Act on Scientific Activity and Higher Education (Official Gazette of the Republic of Croatia No. 119/2022) and the conditions specified in the Regulation on additional criteria for selection to associate positions at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Zagreb, will, in accordance with Article 47, paragraph 6, of the Statute of the Faculty of Political Science, be invited for an interview with the committee and will conduct a public presentation before the academic community of the faculty on their scientific or professional work, research, or project.
