Based on Articles 39 and 40 of the Higher Education and Scientific Activity Act (OG No. 119/22) and the Decision of the Institute's Scientific Council, the Institute for Social Research in Zagreb, Amruševa 11/II, announces

VACANCY

For the selection to the systematized scientific position of Assistant in the scientific areaof Social Sciences - field: Sociology, on a fixed-term of five years, in full time engagement.

The position of assistant involves participation in scientific research work in the Centre for Spatial and Political Research.

Compulsory conditions:

• all candidates need to comply with the general conditions stipulated by the Higher Education and Scientific Activity Act,
• completed university graduate or university integrated study in the required scientific field,
• GPA of previous levels of study that qualifies for enrolment in PhD study.

Priority will be given to candidates meeting the following conditions:

• participation in scientific research work, published papers, presentations at scientific conferences, etc.,
• acknowledgements, awards, etc. for excellence,
• high motivation and strong research interest for working in the required scientific area,
• excellent knowledge of English.

Along with the application candidates shall submit:

• copy of diploma on completed university graduate or university integrated study,
• degree transcript of all previous study levels with GPA,
• certificate on recognition of foreign educational qualification for candidates who have acquired their qualification abroad,
• cover letter,
• CV with description of track record,
• proof of knowledge of Croatian, B2 level (for foreigners).

Candidates meeting the formal conditions of the public vacancy may be invited to an examination of knowledge, interests and motivation, and to an interview.

Candidates invoking their rights of priority in access to employment according to specific regulations need to submit all the prescribed documentation according to the special law.

Assistant is employed with the related coefficient of job complexity for the Assistant position, in accordance with the Regulation on Job Titles and Job Complexity Coefficients in Public Services. The employment includes a probationary period of 6 months.

Assistant is obliged to enroll in a postgraduate doctoral study with the purpose of obtaining a PhD degree. Candidates of both genders are eligible to apply.
